Gills

Hi All,
How do you remove the gills, do they pop out and snap in. I didn't want to screw things up before I start the dechroming process. All you guys did a great job, hope mine looks as good .

Hey Chuck, They pop out fairly easy, pop the bonnet and give it a try. Check out the instructions I posted on the first page, they should help a bit. Good Luck.

I think they want to know if you used trim black paint to do the door handles.

I was actually thinking about doing that next but I don't have the guts to do it with the ones I have so I will order a new set.

By the way I like the black scoop!

I am going to order the new hood scoop from m7 and Black would be a much better option than matched dark silver.

Koolmini- you going to the dragon?

I would love to have black side grilles. Is anyone selling them yet?

I live in an apartment, not much room to do any painting, even for small parts.

Since my car is red, I'm seriously liking the idea of black with the S still red.

I may have to settle though... maybe I can find a place to paint... hmmmm

i think the "S" is reomovable form the side grilles
so if you take out the side grilles remove the "S" and paint black then put the "S" back on
i also have my old "S" side grilles at home and i can double check on the "S" being easily removed when i get home from work

Koolmini, can you elaborate on the issue with the door handles? What were the challenges and would you do anything different?

Also, did you also do your own gas cap? How'd that go?
