wOW, A blast from the past. I am having something pinup-ishyput on my roof at MITM, I searched the internet for it but could never find anything that is just right so I ended up commisioning an artist to design something from scratch

I'm considering doing one on my classic Mini based on this Vargas illustratiuon as a starting point:
The trick now is finding someone that can do a proper job and that can incorporate the changes I have in mind...

If you do the pin-up on the roof then the next obvious step is logos on the door from all the cars you beat.

^ not sure they "pulled it off" -- it looks funny with the shark mouth/eye so far back

^ the JB looks great -- espcially 'cause at first it looked like the Dish is mounted on the car

The Spitfire snarling mouth thing leaves me cold, I'm afraid... The car's lines just don't match up with it properly. Using a nose-art type of pinup girl for the roof is a good idea, but adding aircraft symbols haphazardly on the car just looks silly (IMHO of course).

The dish was the first thing I noticed on the pic.
I do like that the car looks like no other with the graphics.

Nope, the dish isn't part of the package:
I like the mouth around the front better than than the sides. The guns and rockets are fun too.

I just can't let this thread go on without putting my top in it.
It's a pinup but not really bomber style.

totamdu - when I saw this thread revived, I thought of your car. Still the best MINI pinup I've seen.

The top was designed by me in collaboration with a graphic designer friend of mine, and the designer at the sign shop, also a friend. They are friends so I didn't pay to much for it. And the wheels are ADR Sokudos (cheap) but with good tires.

Its a very interesting combination of styles to me...sort of Maxwell Parish, 40's Pinups, Japanese wood block prints, and 70's WOnder Woman TV (lol maybe thats a stretch..)

I still love that roof. One of my favorite MINI graphics so far.
I love pinup art - Vargas (hence the name), Olivia, Elvgren, Petty, Al Buell, Jennifer Janesko, Pearl Frush, Billy De Vorss...
So I wonder if any of the people who started this thread back in 2005 got their pin-ups finished?

If anyone is going to MITM, Mine will be installed there and I think you all will like.
