anybody put a pinup on their Top?
been thinking about having a sunroof decal made. I have a black top on dark silver. I really like vintage pinups and wwii history. that is probably where it comes from is all the nose art on the bombers. thinking about having cooper flags make me a pinup for my sunroof and maybe putting spades in the corners.
just cant decide do I want to go vintage pinyp by Elvegren or Varga, or a modern one.
this one is cool. kinda blends my interest in wwii with a pinup. and it would look good on the black top.
I also plan on checkered mirrors. since alot of fighters of wwii had checkered nose and tails.

Elvgren.....definitely Elvgren...
Although there are a few Vargas (which coincidentally was his name not Varga which Esquire changed it to to comply with the times. ) pinups with a WWII or military theme. I think you should keep it vintage, they are by far the best pinups. Naughty but still nice. I have an Esquire calendar from 1944 with a few you might like at the office. If you PM me with your email address I can take a few photos and email them to you. I really like your idea.

Vinyl art has been done on MINI roofs before. Usually looks great.
A "natural" pinup-

My wife and I were considering the same thing for my (our) MCS. We are both fans of this ladies work and have discussed it w/ both the artist and Cooper Flags. Our biggest hang up was that the artist would not decide on a licence fee until we picked out which image we wanted to use (all her artwork is copyrighted and we would have to pay her the fee to get a file w/ high enough resolution not to look pixel-y that large on the car). My wife wants to look into someone airbrushing the roof now but we'll see. Check our this ladies work, really sharp.
Sumwon, she has a lot of pic of Julie Strain, kinda like the modern Bettie.

Fantastic idea! - The checquered flag mirrors, dark silver and "roof art" will be evocative of a P-51. One of the managers at Sterling Mini near Washington, D.C. has "redtail" tags and painted his roof and mirrors red in honor of his father who flew with the Tuskeegee Airmen.
Great Stuff!

some kill shots on the side might be neat.
here is a cool site I found yesterday. it has all the popular pinup artists from the past to the present with examples of their work and links to websites.
I probably will find a style I like and recreate it myself. I have a ton of noseart picts in books at home too.
