Reg MINI frontend VS MINI S'

First off let me start out by say I love the way my MINI S' looks... but
I like the simple and more retro look of the reg. MINI, I think its the bumper gaurds and the chrome???

are you talking about the 2005 MC front or the first version of the MC front?

Well, changing the hood would be tough, but I'll bet you can find someone to swap bumpers with you (you'd have to modify for the exhaust but that should be doable, perhaps just change the valance).

I definitely agree....I'll admit it is a personal preference. The MCS was designed to look more aggressive (fittingly so) as was, perhaps to a lesser extent, the '05 Cooper front end (also nice). But I personally relate to the more retro front end w/ along with its cheeky bumper strips. Not much aggressive going on there...very different vibe...very Mini...I like.

In addition I'll say that I also personally like the chrome grill on MINIs. The trim-only chrome on the MCS w/ body colored grill looks slightly out of place, especially on darker cars...just a piece of chrome w/o purpose. W/ a chrome grill the trim is better integrated into the entire grill assembly. Everyhting looks in it's place. The body colored grill was supposed to look more aggressive, and I think it does. It's just not what I like.

I am definitely not a fan of the even more aggressive aero kit front end. I do not like seeing the bonnet structure behine the grill...ruins the look, imo. So I REALLY dislike the Orciari front end and probably a few others.

In the end, I am very pleased to motor in a MINI that is still connected to the original rendering of the MINI and those early inspirations which were so faithfully carried over...especially...to the Cooper.

Then again, I'm also totally in love w/ 7-hole wheels!!!! To each their own they say.

Im not saying I would ever do it, just saying I like the simple more rounded look of the reg Mini, I like the S' power though.
Im talking about the early models, what the difference with the 05s?
I wouldnt want to get rid of the air intake plus doesnt the MINI S super charger need that??

^^^^^The '05s have a no bumper strips fore and aft like the '02-'04s do...instead the '05s have a thin strip across the front lower grill, and in back on either side of the rear fog. These can be chrome or body-colored.

the MC's have the chrome boot handle from the factory.

all the chrome bumper inserts can be bought from alot of vendors (moss has a retrofit kit)

they also come in CF and a few other styles from the european companies.

I like those also I might get a set and try them?>
Im affraid they might be too small, wish they were a wee bit wider or 16s.

I want a chrome grill, found a couple of Cooper grills on eBay heres the # 7986951536 if you wanna look them up, I assume they dont fit my S since mine only has 3 slats
theres a lot stick on BS grill kits I can see that crap falling off in a year

Everything CHROME

I used to have a pinwheel well, 3 actually. The first one was taken off by my dealership (grr i can't stand them messing with my stuff... so many rants) and they broke the fasteners and the pinwheel flew off before i left the lot. #2, i was being tailed by a big dodge truck on the highway. There was a chevy SUV to my right pacing me, so i couldn't get over. I slowed down, chevy slowed down, Dodge gets closer. I sped up and the pinwheel, perfectly lined up with the dodge's hood/windshield, flew off and wacked him. He slowed down to just above the limit, and i was able to slow down and get in the right lane. If he wasn't pushing me to go so fast, we wouldn't have had that problem now would we? #3 shredded to pieces on a "mini" drive to WV. We were going alot faster than i ever took my mini before, and it just shredded all up. But it was fastened down this time... so the pinwheel was basically still there.

Now i have a barbie head. I took a close up shot, but it's at home.

Since we're on the subject, my hello kitty air fresheners are not stock, nor is the vinyl on the back window. I have floor mats because i live in the country, and the travel from my front door to car is sometimes through snow/mud/dirt/dead animal... whatever. Other than those little add ons? Factory
