Removing wax.

I just got my new bonnet stripes and need to know how to remove the wax and prepare the surface so they stick?

Thanks.

hey use this

use dawn soap on the parts that you want the wax to come off. I did that with mine and it worked great.

As above. ^^

You can also try Griot's wax remover or 3M all-purpose cleaner followed by rubbing alcohol/water mix (this last one is how the paint film guys prep the surface before installation).

I'd recommend Dawn as well. Cuts through grease and wax, but is gentle enough not to marr your finish or do any damage to the clearcoat or anything else it might accidentally touch.

Dawn will strip anything off. You'll have pure paint finish to work with.

I agree with the above dawn solution.. it contains alkaline which will take off the wax, but not harm the finish....
