Water is only a problem if it gets into your intake. The scoop would force the water through the intercooler, and over the engine, just like it does now. Your engine is 99% waterproofed, with the exception being the big hole in the butt of your car (exhaust) and the intake.

When would this be sold?..well...that would depend on JS's enthusiasm as he's THE scuptor/fabricator. I believe he may produce small quantities per special comission.

I mentioned this briefly at another thread but this scoop will require the OEM upper diverter be removed altogether and a foam seal be attached to the top of the IC cover. This freed us up to open the intake area:smile:

when the oem diverter is removed, how will that affect things for those of us with a GRS intercooler or other aftermarket coolers?

Not sure about GRS but I'm using Alta TMIC. No problems...in fact, Alta also does away with the upper diverter and is sealed from below by their IC cover/diverter. Take a look...

72 virgins

Just kiddn. Honestly? We don't know yet. We probably start by figuring out what GM pays us per hour and the time it takes to make one. Maybe you don't want to know...we get paid to go the potty at work

Seriously, probably won't be cheap as you'd like as they would be hand made by college educated, tax payn US citizens, one at a time...but come to think of it...72 virgins comes pretty close:smile:

It's not for everyone and especially not for someone looking for a bargin...
