Convertible Button Cover

Okay, I know there is a thread somewhere in here covering this, but this is a different question of sorts :

My cover has, hummm, I guess you could say, warped? Yes, the Florida sun has warped my plastic cover. When you go to open it, the top cover has caved in and it 'pops' everytime. The sticker is peeling off and flapping around in the wind It's very sad. very sad indeed. Now the kicker. I went to put the top down and the whole bleeding thing fell off in my hands. (I will say in a positive note, the sticky that they put it on with rubbed right off...no residue)

Now, where do I get another one? It looks so naked up there without that cute little box! The warped, peeled old one is sitting in that little tray under the hand brake that doesn't hold anything but...well a button cover.

Anyone have success with getting one from that old thread? Know of where I can order or obtain one?

Bueller?

Bueller?

Thanks in advance
-Sarah

I, too, am suffering the warped, flapping button cover (California sun).

I asked at the dealership and they said that sometimes, convertible buyers don't want their button and they just throw them away . I've aked my dealership to hang onto a few for me.

I don't think MINI really expected you to keep it on for ever!

I have picked up a couple at my dealership - shocking perhaps but not all convertible owners want it on their car!
Ask your friendly MA to acquire another one for you

Oh, why not Ian?

Actually after it fell off, I was giving my dad a ride somewhere and the first thing out of his mouth as I started to put the top down....

"Where's the box?"

I'll call my friendly dealership and ask around, thanks!!

P.S. Cherry, it sucks doesn't it? Living in a nice sunny place where you can put the top down? Except now I'll forever be in fear of the warping!

Don't fear the warping, get stocked up and embrace it!

I cannot go button-coverless - it's a big hit at auto shows. Besides, it reminds me constantly that the top is to remain down at all times. It's so tongue-in-cheek Brittish that it is as much a part of my MINI as the chassis.

I'm sorry to say that I too - go around button-coverless... Mine just wouldn't stick so I said forget it, and now have it along with an extra, in my collection of MINI goodies... It got to be more of a pain taking it off and putting it on everyday...although I am bummed it won't stick because it looks pretty neato up there... Yet another great marketing tool my MINI...

You might try sending an email through the MINIUSA Lounge area to them and ask for one. I've done that in the past when trying to obtain some MINI goodies for my collection and they were quite accommodating...

Here's the response to my question to MINI USA:

"HI Sarah,

Thanks for contacting MINI. I am sorry, I have checked on this and
there is not a way to get a replacement cover. Again, you have our
apologies."

Anyone out there that doesn't want their button cover??!?!?
Please drop me a PM!
