To each his/her own, at least its unique and makes you happy
Just be careful using a setup like that in Cali (not sure about laws elsewhere) :

One small technical questions. You got 610 watt drawing 11.8 volts?
"Now you’re at 600 Watts, or 50 Amps, just in forward lighting! Got an electric cooling fan? Another 8-12 Amps, the same as your heater fan. ....... Stop Lights - 2 Amps each. Marker Lights - 0.5 Amps each. Ignition - 8 to 12 Amps. Fuel Pump - 4 to 8 Amps." http://www.rallylights.com/useful_in...ble_wiring.htm
So lets do math ... about 91 AMPs to taking the averages. Whats the alternater rated at 120 AMPs?
Dont put on the A/C dude, you'll blow up the CAR!!!
Have you got a voltmeter? Whats it reading? while driving?
All in all ... very cool!

I am jealous!
I thought I was bad, trying to throw out as much light as possible, but I've got nothing on you!
Good job man, you're a pioneer in rally lighting for the new MINI. Let us know if you attract the unwanted attention of Johhny Law.
Question: do you have all your lights wired up to turn on with your high-beams?

no all those lights are wired up HOTT so i can just turn them off at any time, car off or on.
as far as voltage while running... IDK i dont have long enough leads on my multimeter nor do I have one that records highs and/or lows.... if someone has one I would be more than happy to do it.
I am running the MINI-Madness brackets/lights for my grill and have offset them 2 inner and 2 outer so I can get more side light.
No I havent sat in traffic for long periods of time but if I did there would be no airflow... and you would have the same problems if any... nothing is physically being blocked it is not a solid piece of metal its 4 different lights with gaps
If I forgot your question put it up again i forgot...

Why dont you just upgrade the wiring, put in a bigger fuse, up the bulbs to 130W and drop the number of lights.
The lighting production will MORE than double and less lamps.
Just a thought

910w is around 75 amps. The stock MCS 105 (peak) amp alternator might not actually deliver 75A at idle, so like chows4us suggested, it would be prudent to check the voltage when running is ~14v.
The MC has a 120A alternator that does not fit in the MCS.
I wonder if a pair of 1kW helicopter searchlights would fit in the high beams?

Ok I just got back from the dragon and all I have to say is WOW. I started at Deals Gap around 6:15pm and it was plenty dark. I started with just high beams and thought oh this is ok... Then when I hit the TN border I just poured on the light. All 8 of the lights aim properly I might add. 2 go far outside and even in the TIGHTEST turns on the dragon I can still see the road with some light on it. On my GPS i hit a top speed of 55.6mph now I know thats not fast but remember I don't drive too fast on the road and it was nighttime. If anyone wants to see the road at night... I higher advise either putting on lights like I have OR come for a ride with me. It makes it feel like daytime. Also for the non-believers about the ALTA low rally lights when you crest a hill and all your lights aren't on the road but your ALTA's are THAT's when I say *whew* thank you for the ALTA's. With the lights like I have them its amazing... its like night and day, I don't know how else to put it.
