Again, it is possible I think but you'll have a pretty hard time putting it back together.......

Question. I'm thinking of painting all of the patina parts Chili Red and leaving the silver parts as is. Can the cross piece arm rest portion be removed to leave it painted silver?

Wow that looks awesome.....

Did you use spray paint in a can or do you have a compressor/gun?

Once I purchase a house I'll get myself a compressor....

Wow!

That looks fantastic. I love my anthracite interior now that I have it, but when I was ordering I was dying to have more black in the interior. Yours is just how I pictured it.
All you need now is the spiffy caps to complete the look. I bought a set on ebay a couple of weeks ago and love 'em. They fit into the little holes on the doors and give it a more finished look.

Great work, can't wait to see what you do next.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing, I have the silver interior and it looks so plasticy and cheap.

The reason it looks cheap is because it IS plastic and it IS cheap!

What they did with all the trim that is matte silver is that they just painted it and did not clear coat... by sanding it down in order to prep for my paint job, I've found that they sprayed maybe two coats of color on there...Very, very thin....

I also managed to sand away that terrible line in the door panels....on top of the Y piece...I always thought that was super goofy as well......

Ok on the FIRSt day of installation I friggin' flipped off my seat belt (with the CQ lock attachment which is extremely heavy) and there you have it, I chipped my friggin door panel.

Got to pick up some touch up paint now. ARGH.
