Here's a pic of the driver's side mat. Please excuse the Georgia clay mess!
The good thing about these mats is that the GA clay doesn't stain them, I just brush off any clay and they look like new! You can also see the spiffy caps covering the holes in the door panel. I like the finished look.

minus the mats, that interior looks familiar.... (My Mel has the same interior combo - and is also PW - but is he is all PW.)

I have heard so many positive things said about these coco mats - and it's good that those who have them like them! I guess I would need to see (and touch) them in person before I could even begin to comprehend trying to justify paying over $125 for just the front mats. But, I'm an admittedly hard core Cheap B@st@rd.

...and a question: do they "shed" over time? In other words, do the coco fibers break off and leave a mess on the carpet?

I have been perfectly happy with the fit, finish, and durability of the MINI rubber mats. After 3 years and some harsh salty winters the driver's mat is only now starting to show some marginal wear - but a cleaning and a quick wipe of some Back-to-Black makes them look new again. ..and I think I only paid a total of $150 for all 4 mats and the boot mat.

I've been considering the JCW checkered mats for the summertime:

Your local MINI dealer does for sure.
I'm not sure if any of the NAM sponsor aftermarket shops are carrying them yet.

I have the all-black cocomats, which have a great herringbone weave
pattern. The color is not too black and works well with the interior trim.
Cocomats have a wonderful deep texture that does not show up well in
photos and look fantastic under the footwell lights.

Mine show no sign of shedding but I've only had them a couple of months.
The company claims they won't shed: http://www.cocomats.com/faqs.htm.
You can order free color swatches to examine the color and material.

I have Cocomats and I find that I am constantly sliding them back in place. It is annoying but I only have myself to blame. I always say that I'm going to punch a hole in them and put a grommet on and tie the mat in place but I never get around to it. Other that that, I love them.

Are your mats from Cocomats.com or some other vendor? I've had mine for a year now and they never slide. Plus, they have worn incredibly well. The Black w/ Blue dots are a perfect match for my interior too.

From the Cocomat web site:

7. Will your Cocomats bunch up or slide?
NO! We adhere our coco matting material to a 1/8” natural rubber bottom, with nibs. This keeps the mats from sliding and from bunching up.

My Cocomats fit very snugly into their space, and they are heavy, thick, and stiff. Unless the mat becomes soft with use, I don't see how mine would move in any direction. They are certainly so thick and stiff that they can't possibly bunch up.

I can only guess that you don't have the same brand that I have. Mine are extremely thick and very heavy. I have to use two hands to get them out of the car and have to use both hands if I want to adjust them a bit. I put them in a month ago and they haven't shifted even a smidge

I did get them directly from Cocomats.com and they do have nibs and they do slide forward. I have read of other people complaining about the same thing in the past. I just use my heel to slide them back into place periodically.

I have had them for three years and there is no shedding. There is only slight wear on the rubber part that is under my heel.
