To stripe or not to stripe... that is the question.

I have a new 2006 MINI Cooper. Chili Red, White Roof and Sun Roof.

I ordered it without bonnet stripes so I could decide later if I wanted them or not.

What is your opinion? Strips or no stripes?

Beyond stripes!

For six months I have been pondering the same issue, and finally decided on "static-cling" meatballs #43 on each door. You don't see those every day! see this site from a NAM member <http://www.littlemini.us/articles/DTR/dtrDetail.asp?articleID=8>

If you can still monkey around with your order and it is a free option based on your choice of packages, I'd go ahead and order it with the stripes.

If you don't like them, they peel right off in just a minute or 2!

Mine came with stripes, then I took them off, then I put more on, then I took them off, then I put more on, and now my bonnet is naked once again while I consider some different stripes!

I like 'em and the cool part is that you can take 'em off later and do something different or just go plain again. Think beyond White.

So far in two years, I've had EB, Red and Purple stripes on Percy-Bob (and an EB roof for a while).

After market one color checkerboard stripes that let your body color show through are my favorite! Can always change your mind later-not really expensive at all. Check out Cooper Flags............

To me, the stripes make the Mini. If mine didn't have them, that would have been the 1st thing I did.

Just my 2-cents

May be that's too late.. If I were you, I would ordered it with stripe first, then if I don't like it. I can easily peel it off.

Anyway I would go for white stripe on CR/W. You can put on the offset stripe to make it more special...

Magnetic stripes--ez on/ez off. Go to your local sign shop they will make them for you. Under $50.

STRIPES! They just add that feistiness that a (relatively) little car should have.

Beware magnetic stripes - unless both surfaces are squeeky clean, you'll scratch the paint.

Stripes

Definately stripes, but be careful with magnetic, they will scratch. Also you don't have to use white stripes. Check with several of the NAM vendors. I got mine from CooperFlags. They are silver with a dark slate border. I think they accent the wheels and chrome grill. Look at some of the other choices

My Red/Red S came without stripes and after having them installed, I think it looks much better. Oh, I have black stripes. Get the stripes, they lend a nice touch.

Stripes are overdone.

Look at 100 MINIs and more than half will have stripes.

Want to be UNIQUE?

Go naked

Stripes are overdone. Be original. Everyone sees some Movie and thinks they have to imitate what everyone else does when the whole point of "youification" is to do it "your way". You like stripes, go for it but so dont 50000 other MINI owners.

Never mind me, I usually never follow the crowd.

I agree with PPE, poo poo. You can stripe without having the typical black or white. Just had my friend come by with a brand new PW/PW MCS. He was trying to decide if he should stripe. We were trying to come up with an idea and, more important, color. Finally decided that a beige/camel stripe with black border would look good. BTW, he has the camel/black leather interior.

Get stripes, but be unique to satisfy chow4us.

That sounds like a great stripe idea! Can't wait to see photos. I am hoping that people branch out more with the stripes. I like that mine are one color silver (letting the body color show through). I prefer that to the black and white look and like the way it ties the silver roof in.
