Thanks. It should be OK when I get some shorter bolts to hold the plate on the frame, it is far enough away I think except for the bolts I. I will have to climb out on the hood when someone else is driving at high speed to make sure. No i won't. Maybe I will add some padding back there too.
He's not putting that plate because it looks nice. He's putting that plate because he has too. Although his tow-hook mount came out very nice and the plate actually looks quite nice there...
Looks good!
just watch it at speed because the plate isnt that strong (doesnt look like you have a backing) and dont want to see it bend back and scratch that bumper...

Just checked it out and since the angle is bolted to the license plate frame, which is very rigid, it doesn't look like it it will be a problem, especially since it is a few inches from the bumper. I'll still shorten the bolts and maybe put something soft on the back though.
Battle Cattle,
From other NAM threads it sounds like the bolt to go into the tow hook is unique - where are you finding them? Are you still making these for other NAM members?
How can i get the tow hook to mount straigh. When I installed the tow hook until it was tight, it was at an angle? I mad the mount for my plate and now i just need to make the tow hook straight. Any ideas?

Use a thin washer, then you can screw it in to the position you want. I would get a few, you might ruin a couple before you get it right.
Thanks, I will give that a shot. Right now I just used teflon tape and it is ok, but would rather have it nice and tight! I will take some pictures of my setup and how it looks.
Haha, that would deff. solve the issue, but then again that would also be putting a hole in the pocket. Hmmm not sure if this mod. would be worth the extra cost!
Ok guys here are some pictures of my car with the license plate bracket I made yesterday. Please be aware my mini is covered in salt due to the large amount of snow we had the other day. Waiting for the rain to come tomorrow to wash the roads off and then wash the car.

P.S. all the hardware is stainless steal and brackets are aluminum.
Well after a nice wash of the mini and running to the hardware store. I picked up a stainless steal lock washer to use to make the tow hitch nice and tight! Works wonders. The lock washer is 5/8 if anyone is interested.
Sorry for the post structure, I do not have that issue but will fix it. I improved from your idea made it much more stronger! But all in all, thanks for the idea!
So my neighbor who knows how to weld, works in a muffler shop, does a lot of car work in his garage etc. is building me a tow hook frame and ended up cutting my tow hook so he could use it as he could not find a bolt that fit. Tonight I’m looking for a replacement tow hook and what do I find on MyMini A TOW HOOK FRAME ALL DONE!!!! http://www.myminiparts.com/proddetail.php?prod=FPMK
And I thought I had been all over Peter’s web site before I ordered my exhaust and glove box organizer from there.
I’ll post pictures of my license plate mount when it is done.
