just added S2000 antenna...ahhhh...that's better!
swung by my local honda dealer & picked up a pair of S2000 antennas for our MINIs. $25 each, could have gotten them cheaper online, but no shipping, etc....it's done!
could not have been easier...unscrew factory one, screw on S2K antenna. done! not too long, not too short....Looks factory. Plus flexible, and it doesn't stand out like a *please steal me* item.
No pics yet, there are already 100 other ones here. I'll post some when i get a chance.
just a real nice & easy mod!

i'll shoot a few of my own after the cars get baths.
Oh, and as soon as my wife saw mine, first questions was "where is my stubby antenna!!!"

I am into chrome so I went with a billet stubby from Moss MINI--$12.95--I think. It is a little shorter than the S2000 antenna. I like the look. Reception the same. Ofcourse, I rarely have the radio on. Best tunes are hearing the melodic sound of SC whine(Alta CAI enhanced) and Magna Flow exhaust.

After my 2006 MCC arrived. I saw a good price on an S2000 antenna and purchased one. These are my impressions:
It is an Altezza JDM Lexus IS300 antenna which is about an inch longer than the S2000 antenna. I think it will match the convertible antenna base better, and might give better reception. I won a used one for $15 shipped (retail $38+shipping, listed here: http://www.lextasy.com/is300_jdm_rub..._1344_prd1.htm).
Here's another view:
- It looks much better than the stock antenna. However, the bottom of the S2000 flares out wider than the convertible's antenna base and is not quite a perfect match. This doesn't seem to be an issue on the hardtop, which has a different shape antenna base. The Enfig version is a little narrower and should look better on the convertible: http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_s...NFIG_MAST.html. An S2000 antenna mounted on my MCC looks just like the picture on the right, on that webpage.
- The reception of the S2000 is similar, but not quite as good as the stock antenna. There is a very distant FM station that I listen to occasionally. With the stock antenna, my reception of this station is marginal (sometimes I can receive the signal, most of the time not). With the S2000, I can never receive it at all. By the way, I was able to receive this station much better on the stock radios of my two previous cars (VW and Honda). The stock MINI head unit simply does not have a good FM receiver.
