show me the ball you have on your shifter!

Guys-

Just wanted to see the different kinds of shifters. I know Whalens are the favorite, but I like some other ones also! Also, specifically, if any1 has a billiard ball shifter, I'd like to see it and where you got it! Thanks,

Chris

I still have the stock shifter, but I'm looking at one of the 8-ball shifters from these guys. http://www.flameball.com/HomePage.htm

Somebody else on here has one of these. I've talked with the guy who makes them and they say they weigh 10oz. Not exactly the 18oz you get in a Whalen, but heavier than stock.

I have a brushed stainless Whalen. The installation connection is beautifully elegant!

I've heard that Doug can make billiard ball versions of his shifter with the same connection.

Momo ****

Here is something different. This is now in it's second MCS. Light weight, warmer in the cold, cooler in the heat, smoother more sensitive when shifting. Great feel.

Note the the Whalen **** lengthens the shift throw on the MINI. This is the most likely explanation for the "smoothness" many claim it adds versus the stock ****. Longer throw = less effort.

ok, i think we have established that Whalen makes ***** for the MINI. How about ***** other than Whalens?

I didnt even start the thread and all the Whalen pictures are getting irritating...

Did anyone even read the original post?

whalens smalens

Wow what an interesting assortment of whalen shift *****. Other than Clover's and the MOTDIII I had no idea that they were so capable of engraving unique designs. If Battlecattle and not-so-rednwhitecooper wouldn't mind - I'd love to see some more Of course I wouldn't want to steal *their* thread

Doug Whalen will make billiard ball shift ***** with his slick and elegant mounting system. I have one and love it. The size is perfect and it doesn't get cold (or heat up in the summer) like the aluminum **** it replaces.

I'm not going to post a pic, 'cuz it's an 8 ball and it looks just like an 8 ball 'cuz Doug made it out of an 8 ball. If you need visual assistance to picture that, consult your local billiards parlor. I'm certain they'll have an 8 ball to look at.

(I say we've got trouble. Right here in River City. Trouble with a capital T and that rhymes with P and it stands for Pool.....)

I agree with Spunky. I had a "regular"Whalen for 1 yr. Someone showed a picture of Whalen Billiard Ball--I had to get it. I love it! I got #3--red that almost matches my CR dash. It is lighter and a little bigger. No cold/hot issues. Seems smoother to me--might be my imagination. Problem: I liked the "3" so much I added race numbers(magnetic)--#3 to each door (13") and then added 5" number 3's to the front and rear. Geez, I need help.
