I just saw a pic of another steering wheel cover on a MINI, possibly wheelskins, but it is on a car that has just been totalled so I dont think it would be appropriate to ask for a better pic.

Guys with aftermarket steering wheels, what did you do about the cruise control? Is there any way it have an aftermarket wheel and still have cruise? I'd like to put in a wheel with the extension so the wheels a little closer to me, but I don't want to give up on cruise control.

Help!

Good luck.

I dont know of any wheel that you can use cruise with.

I even gave up a normal horm button to have my wheel on my car.

JCW do an alcantara and CF wheel...probably costs more than the GDP of Iceland though...also stupid that the main place you put your hands on the wheel aren't in alcantara, but leather....

That would be awsome if it had the cruise control buttons on it. I was talking with a friend that says I might be able to relocate the buttons or wire up something new.

Is the 3-spoke wheel smaller that the old 2-spoke wheel?

So, now where do I go to order some of these parts? It looks like I might be able to trade my 2-spoke for a 3-spoke.

Take the part numbers to your dealer.....although Classic MINI in mentor ohio has the lowest OEM part prices, so you can call them too.

I have this one from them - but since we have Indi Blue with Black, and Lapis blue leather - we ordered the royal blue and black instead of red/blk

very nice quality - we've had these on all our cars for years, we didn't opt for the perferrated leather

Ive been messing around with this for awhile now and have the horn button working. I am still going to try and get the cruise as well. I have the Momo Race wheel with sparko's two button switch panel. I took apart a alarm key fob and wired it to the sparko buttons. I have the infer red receiver for the alarm under the dash wired to the horn system. It works without having a cumbersom coil cord between the wheel and the dash. The alarm was a three channel type so I think i can get both functions of the cruise control to work so we will see. On a side note I can remove the wheel from the car and toot the horn LOL

After seeing an exploded view of the steering wheel...

http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...78&hg=32&fg=35

.. maybe you could relocate the entire switch panel somewhere. Like cut a hole in the dash or fab up a plate and mount it under the center console or something. I'm going to see what my wireing expert friend thinks. I'll post up what he says and if we do anything.

Hello,

When I got my new 05 MCS, having had an 02 MC previously, I was MOST disappointed to find that there was a new design MFSW.

One of my favourite features of the MC was the MFSW with the radio/cd player control buttons ON THE BACK of the steering wheel.

I was horrified about the silly little circle on the front of the new wheel. I have EIGHT fingers and two thumbs. Why would I want to operate everything with one thumb, when I have several fingers??!!

So, I cruised around and through Ebay, found someone who could get an old type wheel for me from Germany, and also in Beige/black to match the interior of my MINI.

Here is the result - I LOVE IT!!!
