Interior/Exterior roof graphics: which end is up?

roof graphics: which end is up?
In researching a roof graphic for my 05 MCS, I've noticed that different owners as well as companies that produce graphics show a different preference for one orientation over another (top towards the boot or towards the bonnet). Clearly there can be no real right or wrong here, but I'm interested in knowing why people choose the orientation that they do so I can decide which end is 'up' for me.

You've gotta ask yourself, "who's your audience".
If the audience in other drivers (of tall vehicles) then top to the front of your car makes sense since people along side of you going the same direction are really the only ones that can get a good look (people moving opposite direction won't have time to see the blur).
However, if your audience is for pedestrians/car shows, then top to the rear seems like a good idea, since most will be looking at your car from the front.
Mine say's "happy motoring", so my audience is drivers of other vehicles and therefor my top is to the front of the car.
