I wonder if there is a way to contact the vendor to see if they are willing to do a group buy. I've wanted these since 2003 but can't talk myself into paying 15.00 in shipping charges for something so small.

Come on guys. You'll spend $60 on spark plugs but $50 for these is too much?? I guess it is priorities

I agree with this one. Just padding their profit with "handling" fees.

As a sidenote - I contacted the ebay seller about a group buy. I will either update this thread (if s/he says no) or start a new thread (if s/he says yes) with details.

Yep...I got it from the hobby shop. It is Tamiya Smoke Hobby paint. It's like $3 a bottle. First, I had to make sure there was no contaminants on the lens or nicks and bumps. Then, I took a "triangle" (got it at Wal-Mart in the nail section....it's a triangular foam piece used for nails and very smooth). Then I just started applying coats with 15 minutes in between coats for dry time. I did about 6 coats. You can do less but each one darkens it. It came out great!!!!!!!!

A kinda group buy is posted here.

It is not really a fantastic deal, but it is something. The seller did not mention anything about clear/vs smoke - so I am getting names for both.

I would need 5 people to move forward, and right now I have 1 clear, and 2 smoke (NO CLEAR)
