Interior/Exterior Going for the Eurosport/Eurotuner Look???
#26
not the best example...but a quick example of what the euro look currently is.
super low, wide rims with deep dishes (that poke out of the fender), shaved exteriors (turn signals and stuff), monochromatic color (not black, chrome, or alternate color highligts besides rubstrips sometimes).
also notice...no tints , it was for a while...but now it seems to be on a decline. Everyone on VWvortex is removing theirs it seems. Another important thing is that their wheels are usually super expensive and 3-piece. Check out www.tunershop.com for some nice euro wheels.

I do have to say some of those Euro's are just sick! I like the shaved look a lot of the bmw's and the VeeDuhbs have in that link from Motoring Underground.
I have emailed the guy on ebay.uk.co about them, but to date no response...

And in terms of it being harder with a MINI. It's totally true. There isn't a single boykit option that doesnt resemble a japanese style for our cars. Not even a simple lip kit like with the VW's. But it doesnt mean it cant be done. I have quite a few custom euro projects including a front lip that i'm making myself And I picked up a european tuning company (EET, they are over on the vortex too) to help sponsor my project....so it will get rolling as soon as the new mini gets here

I agree with RallyMini in most part. The reasons that European cars are running away from tint are:
1. Very strict (I mean veryyyyy) laws
2. Lack of need (mild to cool climate, even Mediterinian is ok)
3. All those cool stuff inside need to be shown
Tint is cool if you leave it at a certain degree, all black is very American, serves the purpose in some pratices. I have dark tint in the back and medium front, but the biggest reason is because i live in South Texas, and i have dark panther leather and anth. headliner, car becomes an oven in summer time.
Back to topic, A nice widebody or OEM Aero kits are very common practice. Like Rally said, deep dish real wide rims, and a tasteful drop is preferable. You either go big rims and high performance tires (but never chrome or bling style, they have not made it to Europe), or like Rally prefers, unlike me (but i am getting to like more when done professionally) small real wide rims with stretch tires.
Real livley colors are getting old, but colors that represent the manufacturers are still preferable (MB Silver, Porsche silver, orange M3s, white GTI)
Ohh finally drop is a must, and a lot of drop.
I am not an expert or i do not practice this, but I was born and grew up in Germany, so been around few, just wanted to share my thoughts.

You just read my mind
since our cars are retro look, i don't see any reasons why not, i am on tunershop.com as we speak drooling, the only thing Rally is the stretch tires, i love them but not very functional for me. Where can we get those rims or anything close to that look?
and btw, what do you think of these?

You can find rims like the ones i mentioned on tunershop....under 15s or 16s they are Schmidts.
In terms of stretched tires. I totally agree. I need my car to be trackable and drivable. I know that people have done both of those things with stretched tires....but i dont know if i could. For now I'm sticking with the "correct" size tire. Maybe i will stretch later.

almost forgot....one reason that the euro look is hard on our cars....OFFSET.
Techincally we shouldnt go lower than 35.....that doesnt offer much room for getting any kid of deep dish action on our wheels. You could probably go down to 30mm...but that still isnt much dish compared to the VWs and BMWs you see cruising around with 3 inch lips and stuff

I've been driving vws for a long while. I am a big fan of the "euro" look. I've been trying to get my crap together for a VW cabrio I recently picked up as well. I also used to drive this:
This is from 4 years ago though. I kinda have a good idea on this whole "euro" thing. all of the previously posted MINIs are far from euro, and more of a motorsport look.

I'm also trying to get the Euro look for my 06 MCS.
When I first started, my car look liiked this but the chrome grills did no look right on my car.
And then I got the aero kit and the grilles did not fit and I used the stock aero grilles and now it looks much better.
What do you guys think? Am I going in the right direction?

Doesn't look 'euro' to me but more of racy, motorsport look..

The wheels, splitter/aero-kit, dark tint, and vinyl are the things that would make me say that.
But with that said, i love how your car looks. I was just drooling over it earlier today.

Ok...maybe this example will help explain things a bit more since the car is more modern like ours
Euro traits:
-Very Subtle bodywork (front lip, badgless grille, etc)
-This means nothing super aggressive like the sharp lines of a bodykit (like on the aero kit)
- Deep dish rims
- very high quality/expensive (you dont want any of the cheap knock-offs or tuner wheels)
-They usually use a very low offset so that they poke out of the fenders
-stretched tires
-usually has flashy polished parts to it, and are often 2 or 3 piece (no fake bolts allowed)
-VERY LOW
-Doesnt matter if you are scraping, euros are usually very low.
-Exterior mods are subtle
-Basic color combo....just silver and a little black. Nothing flashy like a 4-color combo or anything.
-No vinyl unless its small car club or sponsor names
-subtle lighting mods like the joey mod or smoked side repeaters
-you cant see if but a lot of this car is shaved and smoothed out.
