Hey, I'm loving the chrome options for my new '06, but not liking the $200 for a few pieces of chromified plastic for interior and $250 for exterior. Can this be done for less aftermarket?

There are numerous kits on eBay, but for an interior and exterior, it will still be around 100. Maybe more. Good luck! Oh, also watch the MINI Market Forum! Duh!
I have about half aftermarket with tape, and half OEM ordered from Classic MINI. They look the same and you wouldnt know which is which until you touch and wiggle them around as the OEM pieces fit perfect, and the aftermarket dont. Other than that, they are visually equal and same quality. Strangely enough, most of the OEM pieces ordered from Classic are cheaper than ordering aftermarket pieces, especially with the NAM discount. However, one of the full kits on ebay would probably be cheaper if you want all of the pieces all at once. I picked and chosed which ones I wanted because having the nav system makes some of the kit unuseable.
Does anyone have any experience with the chrome interior pieces that have double face tape? How do they fit/look?
Thanks.
I've bought several of the "ring" style chrome trim pieces from MossMINI. I am very pleased with the quality. The trim pieces for the tach and speedo were pretty heavy, considering. They are expensive though.

My MINI came with the chrome interior and mirror caps and I added the chrome grill, dash downtubes, toggle rings and mirror switch. The rings and mirror switch used the 3M tape. On the mirror switch in looked fine, can't even tell the tape is there, but I didn't like the gap at the end of the toggle rings. I scraped off the tape and they fit quite nicely, so I glued them on with a thin bead of black RTV. Looks great and they're well secured.
