I guess i will just throw this in here....

What tire size would offer a decent stretch (like on the keskin wheels) for a 16x7 wheel....ideally the diameter would also be a bit smaller than stock

Good luck ... you would need like a 185 to get any decent stretch. I ran 195/45/15s on 15x8s on my mk2.

I think you can source 195/45/16s from europe, but it probably wouldn't stretch much, if any, on a 7 inch wide wheel.

Best bet is to find a 16x8" wheel and run a 205 on it for a bit of stretch.

Oh, and a little more photoshop fun ...

those ar emy current favorite wheels....but i just cant afford them

I found 185/50/16s....so do you think that will stretch? It would be the same diameter as my current 15s with 205/50/15s.

another question....would these fit 17x8 et 35 slammed with coilovers?

Everyone's a comedian. Dude my passenger rear is bent to the max, like three or four inches in. My Driver's side front has a bulge, and my driver's side rear is completely seperated from the tire. So that leaves the passenger side front being the only rim left untouched. Few scratches exist on the side panels nothing too bad, however i am going to need a brand new drivers side rear fender bumper plastic thingy. Got to love having your drivers side rear tire blow out at 65.

Those plastic bits run from $12 to $35 at your dealer. You can buy a complete set (minus the side sills) for only $300

Yes...but depending on how low you go, they will rub

im at 41 with ~ -3 camber in rear and ~1.5" drop and the rear rubs on bumper with 205/45 on 17x7.5

Here's 38mm rear and 35mm front. You probably need low 30s or so to poke (especially if you have camber).

Both:

Rear:

Sorry for the bad picture quality. I'll try to take some when it's light out and/or when I have a tripod!

185s would probably stretch a bit but could look silly. That is really narrow.

17x8s et 35 might fit, but I'm sure you would need to roll or trim some of the metal fenders and trim the plastic flares. I'd use a 205/45/17 on a 17x8 for a bit of strech ... maybe a 205/40/17 if you are willing to go very low. Either way a 205 isn't going to stretch much on an 8" wide wheel.

WOW my kinda thread!!

hey oldschool hiya been?
have u tried rollin' a set of fenders on a MINI b4? i tried it on my homies car (did it on his b4 i do it on mine )and tha plastic flares dont line up very well its not real bad but u can tell . i feel that if it wasnt so low to tha ground and so wide on tha wheels then mayb it wouldnt need so much rollin' & werk fine, changin' ET's is not an option....& ur right a 205 on a 8.0 wheel doesnt stretch much but it also depends on wat tyre u use, im goin' to try a 205 45 on a 7.5x17 next i currently run a 215 40 17 and want a bit more stretch

Haven't tried it. The rears especially look to be a bit of a problem. I tired to pursuade mine with a hammer and it helped a bit ... but still rubbed with 215/45/17 on 17x7 et 38 wheels.

The stretched tires help a bunch in order to prevent rubbing ... it is amazing. I need to find a local guy who will let me try on some 16x9s from his vw and see how they look!

I think you could run 16x9 et 30 - 35 with 215/45/16s and at least -2 degrees camber front and rear. Would love to try it!

I have seen this pic several time on here, what wheels are these? What width/offset are they too? Since I had a tire blow out at sixty five yesterday and only one of four are salvagable( two are completely seperated from the rim) Im in the market for new wheels. Preferably something with this look.

Okay I REALLY want these rims. My only worry is they would rub. Would they? Im running the stock 205/45/17 setup right now, looking for something with more of a deep dish appearence exactly like this. Again though I have no clue on where to get these and whether or not they would fit, with the offset and width, correctly.

I dug up a few pics from long ago....

NAM user d6-mcs stretched
Fr: 17x8 et30 with 205/40/17
R: 17x9 et25 with 215/40/17

To quote d6-mcs:
"i trimmed to paint lip off the fender flare. but other then that no rubbing problems, every once and a whole the back only will rub but i have to hit a good bump on the road to get it to do it. seattle, if anyone else knows this, has some pretty bumpy road but anywhere else i am fine."

Note the tire vs. wheel sizes. You can see a 205/40 stretch on the front with the 8in width. You would get less stretch with either 215/40 or 205/45, as these have larger aspect ratios (taller sidewall heights).

Also, shaved/smoothed fender trim. Never mind the lambo door.... I don't know whose MINI this is.
