Show me your shaved, low, wide, poke, stretch..!
First off, I'm not here to bash, start anything, e-fight, etc. I'm a euro enthusiast/VW owner/lover. Where I come from (www.vwvortex.com with 6200 posts), in the cosmetic department, we're all about shaved bodies/bumpers, slammage/tuck, wide/staggered wheels, stretched tires, poke, all for that exclusive and distinctive euro look. Here are some examples of VW mk4 "heavyweights," as we refer to them:
A pic of my work in progress:
Has anyone modified their Mini with euro styling?
So far, my favorite is this one. I think his sn is misfit or somethin:
I'm friends with SilverBullet3687 aka Chris on here. I love minis as well, and I'm reading up all about them on here. We've got a lot in common actually.
I have a 1.8T engine, you guys have the 1.6 S/C.
I have EIP chip, intake (which does nothing on forced induction cars besides the cool sound), custom side exit exhaust, forge 007 diverter valve, and Kinetic Motorsports MBC (manual boost controller), VDO boost gauge in the performance dept. I also have a Weitec 60/60 cup kit, 17" Flik Wasps (which I'm looking to trade because they're so played out), all Hella smoked exterior lights, among other little not-so-exciting interior goodies.
The EIP ecu tuning was by far the largest improvement in performance, bringing me from 150hp at 7-9psi stock to ~210hp/240tq at 19-21psi. Can you say torque steer?
Does ECU tuning for the MCS gain close numbers? I know you replace the pulley on superchargers to increase boost. EIP uses ecu tuning, air/fuel ratio, and engine mapping for the large power increase, so it's not running lean as it accounts for the added air. Amazingly, I only went from !420 miles on a tank to ~400.
Thanks for reading. I hope to learn some new things on here.

hello
first off, unfortuantely, you're not gonna find too many people on here with "euro" styled MINIs. I too would like to see some, but from being on this site for a few years now, I havent seen much.
I also came from the vortex, well... actually still there. over 7,000 post count :p I used to drive a corrado.
Here's a thread kinda like this:

Notice in the pics just about the entire body is one color, notice the bumpers are smooth and rounded, some of the hard edges and superfluous trim/badges are removed giving an almost bullet like appearance. Basically it gives a much smoother appearance, just as shaving ones face or legs would do.

shaved & smooth • look at the first pic he posted, the gti has rub strips on the bumpers and sides, now look at the second pic he posted, the gti is smooth without the rubstrips. You can shave door handles, side markers, where the emblem is, etc. to give a smoother look.
Poke • Is when your wheels are too wide to fit in your fender, either because of width size or low offset.
Stretch • Is when the tire is bought at a smaller size on purpose to have the actual tread fit under the fender (That's what they have to do overseas to keep them legal, the wheel can be out as far as you want outside the fender, but the tire tread has to be with-in)
I'll try to gather some pictures when i get time to explain it better.

This thread confuses me. MINITOR, are we shaven? I dont think that we speak European. We'll just play along.
The bullhorns are definately euro. Came from a French bull named Jacque. They live in my living room now though.
By the way, the title of this thread sounds like a dirty email title should go into my spam folder.

Around here there is no shortage of slammed MINIs. A couple guys who's names I cant recall had some pretty major stretch & lip going on, and quite a few have dechromed/debadged their rides. MINIs dont come with rub strips, and combined with painted body color rockers and arches do the smooth look justice.
We keep it real on the Euro tip, ja.

I agree with you ... WHERE ARE THE GRAPICS????
To plain jane .... not enough "youification" ... they all look alike to me ... Why would you all want to look just like the next guys poked and shaved bumper?
MINIs are about youification ... this stuff looks like
"lets all look alike"
But ... to each their own

shaven... completely
coming from the sport truck world i've got a bit of a soft spot for the shaved look. makes it clean and simple. i'll eventually attain this with my mini. anyone know how easy it is to swap for the S gas lid for the cooper gas lid? and does it still lock like the S one does? i keep forgetting to check when i go to the dealer... maybe i'll check tomorrow.
i think the euro look is going to be hard until we get some "grown-up" body kits like the vw's have.

I just dunno if a Mini can have that same 'euro' look to me since a big part of it seems to be based on having really staggered wheels for that super wide look in the rear and I don't think the FWD Mini can handle that. And lord knows eyelids would not look good (or work well) on a Mini. To shave the Mini you could smooth over the door handles, rear hatch details, front bumper (remove that little second grill), integrate the hood scoop, integrate the wheel arches, the gas cap too as someone mentioned. Also some other things might be to paint all of the chrome body color, paint inside the headlamps...

i think most MINIs are more racer look than anything... i really dont think mine is euro at all, i think mine is closer to JDM!
let's see... Blacked out grilles
PIAA fogs
White halogen bulbs
white parking bulbs
Stealth turn signals all around
Black Racing Hart CP035 replicas (rota subzeros)
lowered on Eibach Springs (1.0 front, 1.2 in the back, although it looks lower than that)
M7 Ram scoop in CF
Orciari rear spoiler
Alta shortty antenna
i doubt im euro... does anyone think i got a bit too JDM?
