I put a clear one on my BRG MCS. Can't even see it and it has protected the bumper from two kids getting backpacks and other stuff in and out for about six months. The material is thick like the light covers, did lights and the bumper the same day.
I got the soap solution from Outmotoring, but not the alcohol pad. Is this a problem? Their instructions don't seem to indicate a need for one, but I want to be sure before attempting to apply mine. Any recommended replacements for the alcohol pad?
I am going to try out a Toyota Matrix rear bumper protector. They look like they are about the same size but they are made MUCH better than the paper thin MINI part. I'll let you guys know what I find out.
you can buy the clear ones in bulk and do it yourself. o.O
gonna be a lot for how long it is. but you'll have a lot left over to do phones and many other things. http://www.invisiblemask.com/bulkfilm.html
there's the link. =]
lol that would indeed be nice. a bit over obsessive on protecting your car tho.
i have some. but not enough to cover both headlights. i bought from them before. maybe ill buy a bigger size. and does anyone know how it'll affect the lighting of the hids? if it's regular ill go for it.

Rick,
Let us know how the Matrix protector works out for you. I'm not too impressed with the MINI version. I've had it sitting in the car for two months because it looks flimsy and dry fitting it---I thought maybe I had a protector for a different model bumper. It doesn't look like it's shaped correctly.
I haven't put mine on yet, cause when I sized it up to the bumper, it looked different than I've seen online. It seems too big and it stretches past the end of the bumper (to the vertical surface) a little bit. Has anyone put this on a regular cooper/non-aero bumper? Is that normal?
Hey Rick
Did you get a chance to put it on?
Where did you pick up the Matrix one? How much was it?
I checked on the Matrix protector.
It's too long. Found myself looking at every hatchback on the road until I finally lost interest.
Got a skid plate from Moss. Was looking through the catalog they sent and saw the protector they offer. Called and spoke to a phone rep who said theirs was thick rubber. I described the factory protector that I have in the back of my MINI( yet to be installed). He said it was defintely not like that. The Moss part was rigid rubber/plastic.
The MOSS protector is identical to the factory part. Which reminds me. I need to see if I got the credit on my card.
Sure do like the skid plate.
I put the dealership version on b/c we bought stairs for our arthritic dogs to climb in the back, (rear seat delete, too), anyway, it's serving the purpose well and doesn't seem paper thin to me, but then maybe I'm just not that picky?

Where did you get it? I looked at the clear one in MINI Mania's on-line catalog. But it looks very blue in that picture. Maybe they did that so you could see it. Anyone else have the clear bumper protector from MINI Mania?? Thanks!
