I'm sure you can buy the replacement dash from Classic though I'm not sure of the price. If it's in the $250 range, you should go for it becaue that's about what it'll cost you to get the paint to do it yourself (plus you'll have to learn how to do it which will cost you more paint - ask me how I know this).

About a year ago, Classic MINI gave me a quote for the body-colored 3-piece dash (05/06 style) of around $250 MSRP or $200 w/NAM discount. You should e-mail them about the Piano Black dash. They've been good to me about replying with prices.

Thanks for the input every one. The thing is now that i've canged most of the trim to chrome the only things left are the dash, down tubes, and doors. If i buy the piano dash parts i'll still want to paint the down tubes and i don't think i can get it to match. so i may just go the paint it route.
shoe any tips on the painting?

It's not easy. Like I said if you can get it for $250 then you should do it.
I painted my interior bits and have had chipping due to miniscule flecks of dust that caused the paint not to stick. Of course, whacking the said area with your seat belt clip will acceleration such chipping..........
So I may have to redo my door panels (someday).
But with the dash, you shouldn't really have any chipping issues....
Will be installing my own black dash sometime soon.....
And painting takes a lot of time and exponentially more patience - if you mess up, you have to restrain yourself and just sit there and stare at the mistake until it dries....If you try to "fix" it, you'll just make it worse.
