The Eight Dollar Armrest

For those of you who have older Coopers and would like a decent armrest but don't want to pay big $$$ for that OEM add-on crap here's a possible solution: just go to Mall Fart or Tar-ghey and pick up a hard case, about $8, that holds 15 CDs in thier jewel cases. I found mine at MF in nylon-enclosed black and silver trim, looks low-key, and fits perfectly between the seat belt connectors, and can be moved for general comfort. Plus a water bottle in the rear cup holder will prevent it from moving back. However, mine stays put pretty nice, and doesn't get in the way for those all-to-frequent handbrake turns. I had a MCC loaner with the OEM armrest and simply didn't like how flimsy it was, and how it got in the way of the emergency brake lever.

So, kill two birds with one stone: rest your right arm, store 15 CDs, all for about 2.5 gallons of gas. It rocks! Jimbo
