Painting front turn signal bulbs?

I tried to find the person that made a post about this, couldn't find the original thread. To clear those front turn signals, is it correct that you can lightly spray the bulbs silver, so they'll still light up amber, but not reflect amber when off? If so, any paint in particular?

I think you tape the light off & just spray the front tip of the bulb.... not 100% sure.

What's the chances of the paint melting and causing problems? I want to do the turn signals and side marker bulbs. and I've got a can of chrome spraypaint sitting right here...

I know that it's not a solution to the question you asked, but why not spend the $25 and buy proper turn signal bulbs that are cleared and don't lose light intensity from having a coat of paint over them? It would seem to be a much more elegant solution, though it would cost $20 more than a can of silver spraypaint...

That's actually my plan... but it's so tempting to go the cheap way out...

Lord, please keep me from these temptations...

agranger, thanks for putting me back on the path. HAHA!

Check out: www.autolumination.com they have tons of bulbs. The ones you need for the blinkers are the 7507Bau15s, and the running lights are just the 194 wedge bulbs.
