MINI Cooling

Hello. I have searched and search NAM and have found little results. Heres my issue. I live in Michigan and I really like cold weather. Now that it is summer we have a few warm days and even fewer sunny days I have noticed (on the sunny days especially) the MINI becomes a sauna! Partly because window surround the car I believe, but also because there is not much air that need to be heated up.

So I believe tinting the windows will do some, however I am not willing to tint all the way around as it is illegeal. Anything else I can do that will help? I know products like Dynamat say they'll insulate, but will it really do that much? Any other ideas? Way to keep it cool, or cool it off faster? Thanks!

Open the windows...

and drive fast!

What you've described is the curse of cars with lots of glass.

Which actaully does work well, just not when I am listening to music loud in public places. I'd rather have my windows closed to not bug other people. Or at least bug them as little as possible.

Yes... but....

The MINI a/c work quite well and pretty fast, but its still takes 3-4 minutes to cool down a 120 degree car, and in a 7 minute trip, well thats a long portion of the time. I do delivery, and I am in and out of my car. Everytime I leave to help in the store for a few minutes my car will be back up to over 100 degrees. So a/c is great for long trips, but I make many many short ones.

Do you have the sunroof? If so, try popping it open a little. When I approach my MINI on hot days, I typically use the key to open the sunroof and roll down the windows. It helps let the heat begin to escape. I drive through the desert a lot and the MINI's a/c is just fine.

No sun roof

Rolling down the windows works pretty well though, I do that pratically all the time. Just wondering if there is much more I can do. Picky I know
