Spoiler

I'm getting ready to order a new MC. One of the packages offer a spoiler, which will save me $$ for the other options. However, I do NOT want a spoiler. When mentioned to dealer, he really didn't offer a suggestion. Question - are these removable and if so, noticeable?

The Cooper spoiler is very small, hardly noticeable. You probably would not mind it one bit.

I'm guessing that the spoiler is probably easy to remove. Then you would have one if you changed your mind... It looks good on the Cooper, though...

I guess it used to be an option...My Mom's 04 cooper came with the spoiler when we got the sports pack.

However, it is NOT easy to remove Even more difficult than the S because there are more tape adhereing it to the hatch...

The good news: they are removeable - open the hatch, pop the black plastic plugs off, and undo the nuts with a socket, then use a plastic wedge like you'd use to apply decals to help pry the spoiler off of the doubleback tape that holds it on. Clean up the tape residue and it's all off.

The bad news: there are two roughly 5/16" diameter holes in the hatch where the studs from the spoiler go through (i.e. the threading for those nuts mentioned above).

You would think that if you are building your own car, MINI would make exceptions. There are other choices I might not need (depending on which exterior color I finally choose).
