I have a set as well. I have a friend in Japan that sent me a set from Craft Square there. I think with exchange and shipping I paid about $460 for the pair. Easy to install, just unscrew the old ones and ziptye on the old mirrors electircal connection. Look sweet. I blacked out the base as well. I dont know why they dont sell them in the USA, but I heard that Sector 111 would get them too if wanted. They sell them for the Lotus Elise/Exige. www.sector111.com

Good luck, Andy

It's Lagston, not Langston. I posted this on page 1 and correcting you in case people try a search.

so I love the look of these mirrors but I'm concerned about someone stealing them - if they normally attach with just 2 screws from the outside it's only a matter of a few turns & 20 seconds to take them off... not sure how the factory mirrors are attached but can these puppies be attached in a less inviting kind of way - from the inside of the door? maybe find screws with torx heads?

Sid - any thoughts/suggestions?

The OEM ones attach in the same way. 10 minute removal tops

here is the deal from the vendor:

"I will attach some pictures of our primary color CooperS side mirrors
Please check them out.
Unfortunately, we can not offer you the price you would like.
These mirrors are for BMW MINI, not for motorcycles. That means you do not need any modification
on your customers' MINI. It is bolt-on kit.

Here are the price we offer:

1set order: \73,500 + forwarding cost( \6,000)

Total amount: \79,500 approx(701.00 ) usd

5sets and more order: \63,700/(561.68 usd)each + forwarding cost( It depends on the quantity and weight)

For example: 5 sets
\318,500 ( \63,700 x 5sets) + forwarding cost(\25,000)

Total amount: \ 343,500(3,028.30 usd) 605.66 usd per person approx.

Waiting for your reply."

(conversion is an estimate based on exchange rate)
i tried to see if we can get a bigger discount if we have more people, but he said those mirrors are just made for the mini specifically, or you can find a motorcycle mirror to modify!! anyways, the other guy tommy, local guy from la is going to bring some back for $520 a piece if he gets an order of 5 or more..
i have ordered stuff from the guy in japan and it takes them three days to get here in the us.
so i leave it to you guys to decide if you still want them.
i will place my order either by myself or if anybody here is still interested let me know.
btw i still asked him to try to see if he can lower it to the $400 usd range, i think that may be a little bit reasoable, he will get backto me tomorrow.

mike

I don't know if they make any torq bolts long enough to replace the hex bolts they come with, but I just filled the hex holes with some black RTV silicone!! Or you could put some caps over them. Stock mounting uses three bolts and the Craft Squares use two. I ordered mine through Sector 111, about $550+ after shipping

There are shops that cater to metric nuts/bolts...however...the thief only needs torq bits and you're back to square one
