Craft Square mirrors

Any body have an Idea where I can purchase a set of the Craftsquare mirrors. I have an 06 Cooper S. I have email a company that use to sell them but now specializes in Lotus. Or if any one know of a company that will import/ export them for me.

Here's a pic

Whoever gets 'em, be sure to tell us how you mount em. There are tons of people, including me, that would be interested. I might stay with the stock ones. because they are so...i guess smooth. I like that it all flows.

the ones in the pic mount in the same spot as the originals, they have a custom base for it and I think that is mostly what makes them so expensive...

Maybe I can find a set of factory from ebay or something and then take a set of good quality mirrors just like the craftsquare and blend and mold them together it could work.

I just recieved an email from a japanese importer and it seem they can get the craft square mirror. They can get two type the carbon fiber style and a chrome bullet style, I personally like the carbon fiber. The bullet style lights have a retro look to them. Any way he hasn't emailed me a price yet, but it appears he can deffintly get them. If any body else is intrested pm and let me know maybe he can give me a group rate if we purchase a couple pair. Also expect the price to be astronomical as these have to obviously be imported from Japan.

I had a set on my miata. Very high quality. The end of the mirror is curved so you get a wider vision.. One downside is that it's manual and if someone knocks it while passing by your car, you'd have to readjust it.
But I'd be interested in getting one depending on the price. The US dollar got so weak prices for japanese goods are insane.

well it depends....you would have to see how far you could take the stock mirror apart.
The hardest part of a DIY project is finding a base that will cover the huge indenation in the door and contour to the door perfectly. If you could get the stock mirror all the way down to just the part that actually touches the door, it would be rather easy to do that. But i think the entire stalk is connected.

I shot an e-mail to this guy and this is his reply. I'm down for a set but it's gonna have to be later since I am trying to score my hood and trunk.

Hi Justin, Yes I can provide you with Craftsquare mirrors for Mini. I
have close friend in Japan who has Mini shop. What you need to do is
gather up all parties interested in a purchase. I'll contact my vendor
with total amount of sets and provide you with complete costs. You'll
then send me a 20% payment (non-refundable) in advance and I'll order
the sets. Time involved is about 3-4 depending on volume.

Thanks,

Leni Metro

That's what scares me too! We can have a Mini owner that lives near the shop go and strongarm them if they skate out with our money!
