Aero Rear Bumper Cover

I installed the full aero kit but don't much care for the cheesy stick on "grilles" that came with it. Does anyone know if "real" grilles are available?

I just read a post yesterday were m7 was talking about working on a set since no one seems to like the stickers.

You might want to bounce an email over to m7 or see what other people have done...maybe more Home Depot "hinged gutter guard" mods

I think I'll pass on the gutter guards but M7 sounds good. Thanks

I left mine off too. I think it looks much better without ..... esp on a dark color like my IB, since the stickers are white! I also thought about cutting, etc, but the stuff that's behind the cover isn't much to look at either. So, I figure a better sticker may be a better compromise for now. CooperFlags makes a set but I didn't care for theirs either so I asked for a custom set - just told them what I wanted and they made them. I still haven't installed them though - been too busy with other projects I guess.

WHAT DID YOU HAVE COOPERFLAGS MAKE? AND HOW MUCH WERE THEY. I ALSO HAVE A IB 03' MCS, BUT MINE DRIED UP AND STARTED PEELING,SO I GOT A HEAT GUN OUT AND REMOVED THEM.THE HARDEST PART WAS GETTING THE GLUE RESIDUE OFF,FINALLY USED ACRYSOL AND IT CAME OFF AND NEVER HURT THE PAINT.I'D LIKE TO PUT SOMETHING BACK,STICKERS OR GRILLES.

They already make a sticker that fits in that spot. I can't remember exactly where it's done, but if you order a set of them you get the opportunity somewhere in the process to say you want a custom color, but I asked for more than color changes. I said I wanted something with more of a honeycomb pattern that would look a little more like the front aero grills with a gray or dark grey background and a pattern of black hex shapes rathen than the circles they had on their standard aero bumper graphics. It didn't take long and I don't think there was even an extra change for the custom work.

One more thing. If you do this I would consider measuring the aero grill openings and then giving them some dimensions as well. I did not do so and the hex shapes on mine are a bit smaller than I would have liked. You don't have to ask for the exact same dimensions of course, you could intentionally ask for something smaller for example, I just wish I had added that to my custom request.

Of course, the best option is probably to just call and tell them what you want.....

While you are waiting for M7s grills, consider CF for the opening. Here is one traced from the aero decal set.

I like it! Is that CF or carbon-look vinyl.....seems like a good place for the latter.

Thank you! It is part of the M7-Cosworth-Pearl White package that was unveiled at the Dragon. The CF here is the real thing (everywhere it is found on the car). The thicker stuff is shown on pages 6 and 7 of this thread

The product is DragonPlate (http://www.dragonplate.com/) and there are many variations of it that work for our Mini applications.

Here is a casual pic sitting at the tent in Fontana until late afternoon romps with MSFITOY on the Dragon became more fun. ///don
