Interior/Exterior Mounting a switch. Where to go?

Mounting a switch. Where to go?
I would like to mount a switch next to the ebrake. I have an '05 so on the right, there is the tire pressure monitor reset button. On the left, there is a PERFECT space for the switch I have. The 2 wires that I have are under the steering wheel. Whats the best way to go to hide the wires.
Also, how do I remove that center hump thing that is in between the seats? I'll have to take that out to put in the switch. I'll take pics if you are confused! lol
It just BEGGS for my switch to be mounted there. I just dont know how to hide the wires.
Thanks,
William

Dangit! I had the link somewhere....anyway, I'll see if I can find it. I believe it was over on M2.

Hrm.....I'm tired and can't find it....look for it....I know it's there. I think you have to remove the downtubes, then unbolt the console, then I think it should slide out....but I'm not too sure.

The e-brake book has some clips that you can pull in and out i believe. Something like that. From there you should be able to see screws that will allow for it to pull out. And I would hide the wires under the middle console by the shift boot. I think that it goes through to where you want it to. that piece is easy to take out as well. www.mini2.com has some pretty good diy stuff. Let me know if you need any more help.

I didn't have to take apart the center console area.
I mounted a switch into that blank a couple of months ago. Just picked a small enough switch that the hole I needed to drill through the blank insert was within the insert's dimensions. Pop out the insert, drill a hole and mount the switch, you have just over 1 1/4" inches of depth/clearance to work with.
I then threaded a wire UP from the edge of the plastic handbrake/console area where it meets the carpet up into the hollow area under the now opened up switch blank. I then grabbed the wire and pulled it up through the hole and attached the switch and checked that my connections were solid using a multimeter.
You can then tuck the wiring up and under the edge of the plastic working your way forwards and up to the area of the downtubes. Get creative and you'll find ways to easily run the wires forward and up into the dash area of the car via the various platic seams so that they're not visible and remain secure.
After I was sure all the connections were working well, I pushed the excess wire/slack that I left on the switch side down into the hole and then snapped the switch down in place.
No disassembly required.
