I just installed my Cooper Flags perforated sunroof cover using a dry install method per the instructions. Unfortunately, on the back piece, there is an area with 3 or 4 fairly big bubbles. The instructions say NOT to pierce the bubbles with a pin, as it promotes failure. Has anyone else used the dry install method? If so, did you get bubbles? What did you do about them?

I'm gonna' call him sweetie for making me such an awesome flag! I sent him a design and he made it for me and I love it! And he's already emailed me back with suggestions for getting rid of the bubbles. What a guy.

Well, the instructions for the perforated vinyl say that the dry method is the ONLY method you can use, as doing a wet install can cause the adhesive to fail. But, boy, it's tough to deal with all the little bubbles. Not really like a wet installation where they squeegee out fairly easily.
I did the dry install....do not do the wet as it WILL ruin it. The edge tape took longer to do then the perforated graphic did. Max install time was 40 minutes. I strayed from the directions a bit in regards to the hinge method...I added two more hinges to the very middle of the graphic...kinda hard to explain but it made it easier to deal with. If you have any questions don't hesitate to give Ed a call over at CF or seek the help of a local graphic shop who is use to doing graphic wraps and such. Radio stations use them all the time for promo purposes.
Here is my custom design...one of a kind and I would like to keep it that way. The strips are done in Space Blue to match the my MCS SB/S Checkmate.
Wow, that looks really great. I don't know about mine - I think we did something wrong. There are a lot of bubbles that weren't there right after installation. Not sure if it was too hot or????
Stick the car out in the sun for a few days. Most of the bubbes will go away on there own.
Nice Flag
Thanks - I guess you'd know!! The picture in this thread isn't mine, BTW. Someone else posted it. I haven't taken a pic yet - waiting for the bubbles to go away!!
I like Gadsden flags! Very nice... I'm not a Metallica fan, but its a cool version of the Gadsden a/k/a Don't Tread On Me flags.
I did a lot of research on the history of the flag and the different looks throughout the years and I really liked the look of the 3D coiled rattle snake and the words DONT TREAD ON ME without the apostrophe. The snake also appears on the Metallica - Metallica album as well as a track called Dont tread on me...how about that.
Its different and its part of making my MINI unique
