Yep. Just adhesive. Run a piece of dental floss back and forth between the two pieces after you remove the screws to cut through it.
You might need to take off 1/8" of the ends of the screws before screwing them back in so that the pillar will be secure. The screws are longer than the driver's side to accommodate the thickness of the cup holder 'clamp'.
