Hello to everyone, my first post, haven't bought a mini yet but my obsession grows daily. I live in New York and was wondering if insurance companies charge a higher premium for having a supercharger? Would appreciate the input. Thanks in advance.
they shouldnt make ur premium higher because of the sc in general. premiums will be higher on the s though because its the higher model and its more expense. i dont think its considered a performance car though, but that may depend on the insurance company
i live in NY and Pay about a little over $2000 dollars a year for my insurance on a 2002 Cooper S. I also Have to carry extra coverage since i am using the car for work. Plus I have not had insurance under my name in 8 years. Got to love Long Island and Assigned Risk policies.
I am 32 and have 2 cars on my insurance, with 3 speeding tickets, and am going to put it on as a part time user car. It will cost me $160 a month, my agent said most of the cost is because of it being European, parts cost more to replace.
Just bought a MSC. My insurance went up 25 dollars replacing a Porsche '84 944 with the MINI S. With a spotless record and multi car discount I pay 442/yr. Call your insurance company they love to give you any info you need when they see more $$ coming to them!!
