Tint question

I just had my windows tinted today and I know your not supposed to roll down the windows for three days. Of course everytime you open the doors the windows roll down a half inch. Now along the base there is some bubbles, will they go away once everything is dry or will I have to go back to the tinter to get fixed?

When I had my car tinted, I noticed this happening while still at the shop.... the guy had to re-apply the tint on the door windows, and then use a heat gun (like a blow dryer) to dry it more quickly. He said it would be good to go, but I couldn't waste the time to come back if it wasn't. So, just to make sure, I didn't open the doors for a day or two... crawled in/out the hatch instead... hope your flexible . (also left the car out in the sun for the frist day).

It's fine now.

If there are bubbles, it is probably dust under the film and it won't go away. If there are hazy spots in the film, it is just moisture behind the film and it will evaporate within a few days.

There is a way to stop the auto up/down. With the doors open, roll the windows down a little then back up. When you close the doors, the windows will be at the top of their range and won't do anything when you open or close the doors. To get it back to normal, just do the same procedure with the doors closed.

Make sure they use a heat gun when installing the tint. Then you will be all set.

Blanelv, if it doesnt clear up in a few days. take it back...

We just had ours done and I did get streaks at the bottom which ended up being dirt on top of the tint. Came right off after waiting on the tint to cure out.

I just had mine done by a professional shop. Opon dropping my car off I asked them what they did for MINI's/BMW's since all of the window's roll down 1/2" when you open the door. They informed me that they apply the tint with the door open (and I guess you can roll them up?) and applied a heat gun to the tint. After that, they let the car bake in the sun all day. And then, after that, they proceed to do the rest of the tint.

I had mine done at a top notch professional shop, and have had no problems with the tint. I'm not sure where you got yours done (professional or not) but you get what you pay for. I payed $170 for my tint and nothing has been wrong. My friend got is Mustang tinted and one window is peeling (he payed $140 for a a-wal shop).

I would take it back and ask them to use a heat gun and let it bake outside for a day.

The shop is taking care of the "problem", and they have done several Minis without a problem. Just had to make sure the shop owner does it and not one of his newbies.
