Duplicolor Car Art spray paint
It's temporary: http://www.duplicolor.com/products/carart.html
It washes off with soap and water. Now, if you were on the fence about adding bonnet stripes, this just might work .
How about a cruel joke on a friend???

Just saw the commercial for this stuff the other day, and watched the how-to video on their website tonight. Figured someone else must have posted about it already.
I really like the idea of being able to put on some temporary bonnet stripes. I'm assuming that they wouldn't last more then a few weeks before they started to look ratty, but it could be fun to give it a try. At least you could try a few different sets of stripes and then take a picture of the one you like and have someone make a set of stick on ones to match. I'm going to hit Advance this weekend and see if they have it in stock yet.
They also make a spray on paint protector, something those who take their cars to the track might like. You could use it clear bra, but in places you don't normally want it.
