YIPPEE!!! I found a place in the bay area that does custom paint and its $25 a spray can!!! It is even the pearl I want!! I am soo excited to rip my car apart, now I just need those darn metric tools.....In case anyone in the bay wants to know its San leandro Color on E 14th St. Will post pics when its done!

 

$25 spray can? Really? Why don't you want a good paint job? Just remember, you get what you pay for. A $25 paint job is a $25 paint job. The paint shouldn't be cheap!

Some mom at my school has a car JUST like that Mary Kay Deville. Its just a hint of pink. Nothing like StoopidGirl's.

 

Who says its cheap paint? I am paying $25 a can, thats for the base plus $25 more for the clearcoat which has the pearl added. These other people are buying dupicolor for $6 a can, now thats cheap! I believe in my abilities, and if I can do it myself, I will! I take pride in doing projects, so therefore I believe it will be super when its done! After all, its not the paint, its the person who's painting it.

That is OFF THE CHARTS CUTE!!! Well I finished the base coat on my dash and I am doing the downtubes in silver so here it is so far---

Pinkmini, thanks for the shots, I was thinking of doing the same for my dash (different color) but was a bit intimidated by the work (if it doesn't use a wrench or calculus, I'm scared!) But your photos show that a little attention to detail and patience is all it will take.

Monica, what color blue is your car? It looks like electric blue but It is a cooper right, not an S?

 

do the IC cover. It's just 4 torx screws and it comes off. Pretty much the same process you did for the dash pieces! Since it's Right Out There on top of everything, it will really show well.

macco??? sorry but my english is very little little.....

 

Just to let you know...the part you are painting on the tachometer comes off very easily. You just take the two screws out on the back of it, and pop the two pieces in half. Then there are some tabs that you lift up to remove the plastic ring.

This way you can still drive your MINI...just without the ring around the tachometer .

 

Yes, my Mini is Electric Blue ; in Italy is available also the Cooper ( from 01/04 to 07/04......Today no....boh)
