Interior/Exterior New Rear Mud Flaps?
#2
I ordered the front mud flaps and I'm still waiting for those. I did look at the pic of the rear flaps, I'm pretty sure they replace a lot of area. It look to me as if they also replaced the rear side marker lights. The dealers price on each set are $11.00 for the front and $57.00 for the rear.

Mine just came in today(ordered from Classic), Mini USA didn't have a rear mudflap for a while, but they did in Europe. The reason for this is US Mini's have the marker lights in the wheel arches, european models don't. The mudflaps offered in europe would have covered our wheel arch light. The new mudflaps for the US require you to remove the lower wheel arch trim and replace it with a piece of trim that has the mudflap and marker light built in(you re-use the marker light already on the wheel arch, just remove a couple of screws) . I haven't mounted mine yet but I think they will look cool. The new part number is 82-16-0-149-289.

I got the new Moss Motors' catalog in the mail and it has the mud flaps in there. They are NOT on their website yet (www.mossmini.com) but I am sure they will be soon. It has the front ones for $14 (MC and MCS) and the rear ones for $60 (only MC, I'm not sure what is the difference between the MC and MCS rear plastic peice). The part # for the front is 100-665 and the rear 100-666. At that price I would go to the dealer, just thought that I would give people another option though, like the ones that are far away from dealers.

>>Am I missing something? Black mudflap on black wheel arch against a black background? You couldn't convince me that there are actually mudflaps there. Was this posted on April 1st?
>>
There really is something there ... I turned up the gamma on his post:
Not sure I like them though - that join in the middle of the wheel arch is not nice.

Installed the Mud Flaps today.
Here is before;
Here is after;
I am only showing one side because when I show the whole back it is hard to see them. These photos clearly show the difference. They mount on top of the existing rear arch so you do have a slight lip. If you want the clean lines this would not be the way to go. you do have to take out a couple of other screws to get to the light but all in all it took me about an hour or so. I also rotated the tires since I had them off and clean the rims of all the brakes dust.
If you want to see other views let me know I took a few pictures.

could these mudflaps be mounted on the inside of the existing rear arch to avoid the lip?
