It will give it a really nice shine. You are generally supposed to wait a few days after applying your last coat of clearcoat though.
Here is my dash when I did it myself (I used no rubbing compound or anything, I just painted it, and then put a coat of clear on top):
Here is mine after I had it professionally done, and then of course, was buffed with some rubbing compound.
Regardless, it looks like yours turned out great anyway!!
