Is this Carbon Fiber Dash good?

So I found this on a random mini site. This deal is probably too good to be true.. 145 bucks for an entire carbon fiber dash set? It says it is made from "high quality carbon fiber veneer".. im guessing that means it isnt actually all carbon fiber.. which is fine with me as long as it looks the same..

Would you guys consider this a good buy? .. or would it be one of those very poor quality wannabee dashes. Lastly.. does this fit over the origional dash or replace it?

Prices are in Pounds, not dollars. Therefore, it is more like $272 + international shipping, which is still quite a deal. Can't provide any info on that dash though because I have never even heard of that company before.

It is a carbon fiber overlay. Meaning it glues on top of your existing dash. It does not replace your current dash.

...and trust me, when it comes to CF overlay, it's more a PITA than cool. I bought the CF headlight rings, and posted my install notes--which should be required reading for all those who want to add CF overlays. Of course, economics suggests that you get what you pay for. If you pay USD300+ for overlays, the *real thing* should cost considerably more, since it's structural in the sense that it can actually replace the OEM piece.
good luck,

The picture looks like the kit is for a right hand drive version. Is your car right hand drive?

I contacted them and it is for a right hand drive. He said that they dont make one for the left hand drive. Even though it is still a cover it looks nice!

It all depends, I do like the leather dash a lot but it looks to "soft" to put in my MCS. But if I had a red car with red interior I would be all anbout that leather dash with red stitching, that looks hot. I have a black and blue theme going so I opted for the CF.

Plus, I have an 03 that uses the 5 piece dash so this was not an option for me.

Eh, I dont run airbags, so I can run whatever I choose.

I think I'm gonna take the 03 dash and wrap it myself...

It fits over your existing dash, probably with some sort of double sided tape. The quality isn't up to par for my standards... Plus I would have a hard time buying a product where you can clearly see the reflection of the photographer in the item pictures...

I don't like anything stuck on like that ebay kit.

It's not cheap to do it right.
