Did someone say motorcycle trailer. I have my eye on this one.

click it to get the full site.
This one is nice because you can drive up on it without ramps, it folds and it sits lower so your center of gravity is lower between the wheels. (less chance of a tip in a corner)

I guess it falls into the "you get what you pay for" catagory. However, I may try to find the time to build my own.

The fold-ability IS quite incredible... Can you dismount the cycle track, though? That would make it just about perfect, IMHO.

Great job on the trailer! I did the same thing a few months back with the HF trailer. Skitelluride531 might be interested in these photos. The wood cutout thing on top was a last minute addition for my buckets but the idea wasn't sound--the buckets would get airborne on the freeway, even bungeed down. Now that I have a black MINI, a repaint is in order. LOL

Just a heads up

I just bought a Kendon, 2 bike trailor. The Sportlink hitch height is a little too low and the trailor points downwards toward the hitch, putting a lot of weight on the hitch. It was fine towing one bike to the dragon but if you put two, might need to mod the hitch first.

Ok, here's a pic of the back of El Kabong to show the trailer hitch installed. Also a great shot of my new plastic hampers I bought to keep in the boot to hold stuff. The hampers are made of woven PVC so are very sturdy and waterproof. I'm going to just leave the chequered one in El Kabong and the other one is going to my office.

I've almost decided to buy one to haul my motorcycle to the track, but still not sure of the reverse light situation. How does it pop out and pop back in? Are there quick release connectors or something? I'm not understanding the whole picture.
The light has 2 push in thingies. You have to sit down behind the MINI and put your hand up under the bumper, then it's pretty easy to feel the plastic clips that you have to push in and the light pops out. It is still connected by the wiring so you just unplug the light and stick it in the boot. It took me a few tries the first time but now that I've done it, it just takes a sec.
If you have someone else install the hitch for you, just hang around and take a good look at the set up so you'll know what you're reaching for when you unplug the light, and when you are putting in the towbar.

This is a "Menards" trailer, which is the same size as the Harbor Frieght, but it comes with 8 inch wheels that I later changed to 12's. I also made the draw bar a bit longer, so I could get 8 foot sheets of plywood or drywall on the trailer with out hitting the car.

As for Motorcycles, The sides and back come off and the front folds down. Here is a picture of the Motorcycle rail in use.

If you want to do a Tear drop that is a different story.

I put the hitch on the car in the summer of 2004, it is a custom hitch as niether of the commercial hitches was available then.
