Whalen Shift **** Designs
Does anyone have an example of a few custom shift **** designs they've created for their whalen ****? I'm typically more creative but I honestly don't have any idea what to put on it other than juts the shift pattern. I'd like to make it unique! Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I just had one done with the University of Alabama Script "A" on it. Sorry no pic yet. I do know that any design (unless it is only letters) you give to Doug Whalen must be done in CAD format (.dwf file or possibly .dwg not sure on the 2nd one) . Doug does great work you will not be disappointed

How would I go about converting a JPEG of someone elses whalen into one of my own then in CAD format. I'm fairly adept in photoshop, but i'm not familiar with CAD format. I'm actually looking for a cross between these two *****
Obviously with my name on it, not Jason... lol. I was thinking of doing something like the top one, but instead of just the shifter pattern, have it done with the pattern in the Mini wings, and have the name done either in etching or painted black. I do like the finish on the first one though, which I think is beadblasted. The ring accents it nicely, though I think for my purposes it'd have to be a larger ring.
Thanks!

I wouldn't need a DXF file for that type of thing, where it's a cross between two existing designs.
A DXF file is required when I'm duplicating an existing logo, a cartoon character, or something along those lines.
I can draw up most geometric shapes; and of course, letters and numbers are no problem.

I don't know how much inspiration or help this is going to be, but for designing mine, I just started by thinking of things I found interesting or funny (particularly MINI-themed things). Then I went Google image searching for examples and put them together on one page. Then a very talented friend combined them into a design for the ****. He took my basic ideas and ran with them from there. I'm down to making my final decision on which version to go with, before placing my order.
Once I settle on something, I'll post my the final design and pics of the completed **** for all to see.

That last one was the coolest one I've seen yet. Doug is getting more adventurous, that's for sure!
Changing out the stock **** is quite easy:
- Open sunroof, (if your car is so equipped)
- Pull up on stock shift ****, but keep your face out of the way. Once it gives, you could seriously punch yourself in the face, because you have to pull rather hard!
- Putting the Whalen **** on is extremely easy, check out his web site to see how. The best part is that it comes off and goes back on so much more easily than stock.
And you can always go back to stock, should you want to...

It is not hard at all... I have heard some people say the **** was hard but I have pulled off a bunch and never had to use more than one hand... I guess I am no girly maan.
