While I like the idea & general design as well; I'd like it more if it were able to be mounted under the existing toggles as ImagoX suggests?
Lastly, you suggest it is a "cheaper version of the OEM bank"? Does that mean you're making them primarily for those interested in replacing their existing banks (if you were to buy a full switch bank, just for looks for example)?

Thanks for the info. It's little bigger than I thought but still may work. Have you sold many yet?

I'm pretty sure that a full replacement of the existing bank would not be possible (although I may be wrong on that - MINI folks are resourceful). For one thing, the switches in the OEM bank are not standard switches with blade connections, and so rewiring would be much more involved than simply swapping connectors. Also, the OEM bank has illuminated icons on it, so you can view it in the dark.

For me, I decided to go with a custom, 4-switch bottom-mounted unit that would ADD TO the existing toggle block. As much as I like this design (the chrome switch guards are a nice touch), the fact that it has to be mounted inside what looks like a fairly large hole, coupled with the fact that the switch LEDs do not match the OEM switches (which are green where they light up) makes this a no-go for me at the moment. I'd love to see a v.2.0 of this, though, with recolored LEDs (green or even blue would be good) and a bottom-mount system.

Hopefully, I'll have the custom switch block soon (its still being worked on) and I can post some pictures in a seperate thread - mine isn't a for-sale design like this unit, and people are welcome to use my drawing as a starting place if they want to try making their own. Be advised that I shrank some of the dimensions after seeing a prototype - the drawing shows a height of 2" and tabs that would extend too wide to fit between the down tubes - I shrank the height to 1.5" and narrowed the block a bit to get it to fit.

Sold 3 so far, As far as mounting under the OEM toggle bank it could be done using some type of "L" bracket. I'm sure some one could come up with somthing creative. Also I can get the LED' in green and blue.

It would need a back though, wouldn't it? My design put a notch up high, and plans for the wires to be run through the access panel under the center switch bank... It looks like you've already done all the heavy lifting, design-wise with what you have though... Maybe you can sell a retrofit kit for a bit extra, with a back and sides, that this would clip or screw into?

Or another thing you could do Is get what they call a " Project Box" from most electronics places. Just a plan black ABS box that you could mount under the dash and than mount the toggle bank into it.

Dummy toggles

I just added the OEM front and rear fog lights and to get them to work I had to purchase a replacement toggle bank with the added switches. After getting the lights working (trip to the dealer for programing) I got looking at the original switch bank laying on the work bench. Since I've been pulling things apart since the age of 3 I naturally took it apart too. To add the extra switch to the last switch position I only need to drill out the plug and put in the exta switch parts form the old bank. The mounting for the switch is already there. Then I need an appropriate label for it. I'm thinking a question mark.

Wrong punctuation - a red exclamation point may be more appropriate!
