I bought a MCS JSW Checkmate off the dealers showroom about two months ago and now I am noticing that the silver "Cloth" on the drivers seat is starting to show some wear, like lose threads and pulls. Have any other Checkmate owners had this problem? Any suggestions?

Yes, after we drove the GP (Same cloth inserts) from Monterey to Va, the drivers seat shows bad wear marks, thread pulling and pilling. 3,500 miles, two weeks.

The service manager said, "Looks like something has been rubbing it". Not under warranty.

None of my other three MINI's have had seat problems.

I guess I will just take my electric clippers to it and give it a haircut every so often.

 

I have an appointment on Saturday to get a JCW Steering Wheel installed. I am going to see what they have to say about.

 

I got mine as a demo (5000 miles) and it's showing a little wear as well. I'm not super worried about it - yet - but it's something to keep an eye on.
