Anyone have the HomeDepot part# for rear wiper delete?

I want to remove my rear wiper but I need a plug for the glass. Does anyone know the exact piece I will need?
Thank you
Mario

The end of a factory plug wire fits perfectly. Just fill the inside with silicone and a little around the outside.

I was refering to the end of the factory spark plug wire. If you have one laying around cut the end off. Then fill the inside with some black silicone, smooth the end, then apply a little to the outside. Slide it in the hole and let it dry.

Go to Lowes, then go to the hardware section. There will be drawers in there with different automotive clips and stuff. Find the one with the blanking plugs and get a 1" (1 inch). Remove wiper motor and arm. Surround the back of the plug with silicone and insert. Done.

Speaking of, what have folks done with the rear washer to prevent accidental spraying inside the boot? - is there something quick yet more elegant than a golf tee/screw to plug things up?

How about re-routing the hose as an intercooler sprayer?

Weight reduction was my reasoning... The window doesn't get all that dirty...

I forget who it was that did this delete but they also mounted the "pisser" in the hole aiming straight back. Whenever anyone would tailgate, well you know what would happen

I just capped my line off with a vacuum hose cap. I don't recall what size, but I have a surplus of different sizes. The cap went on real tight, but for insurance, I put a zip tie around it also. Now I'm just careful not to hit the switch for the rear wiper.

My reasoning for the removal was for several reasons. One was because the wiper is pretty worthless and it acts as a shelf for dust. I also went for a little weight reduction, and my last reasoning was for a clean look. I don't drive mine every day, so I'm not worried about having a functioning wiper.

I think this is a great idea to delete the rear wiper. I have always thought they were a useless, cutesy appendage. Have you ever wondered why they are considered to be a necessity on a hatchback ( "but how will you clear the rear window?') but no one expects them to be on a sedan, which also happens to have rear glass.

Maybe because the shape of hatchbacks (and vans, and station wagons and SUVs) mean that they collect a ton more filth on the rear glass than a sedan? Airflow moving over the back glass on a sedan keeps it relatively filth-free. However, the aerodynamics of hatchbacks and the other above-mentioned vehicles create a low-pressure area where the back end abruptly drops away (rather than sloping down as on a sedan). This is what causes the infamous "dirty bum syndrome."

Ever notice the rear spoiler on some SUVs (The 80's-style Chevy S10 Blazer comes to mind)? They direct the air moving over the roof down and across the back glass, and work quite well at keeping the rear glass clean without using a rear wiper.

I'm doing this this weekend and I'm adding the pee hole. You have to love the pee hole.

Mario, you keep influencing me. I have Dynamat on order.

1" worked well for me, I think 11//" might be too big. make sure you plug the hose for the rear sprayer. you don't want it leaking everywhere.

That's BRILLIANT!!!! .

Question: Is there a separate fluid supply for the rear window sprayer? If so.................... a lightweight oil would be perfect for a rear pointing spray.

No, sprayer is built into the wiper. Do you want to make your car like that video game Spy Hunter?

So, I'm doing this tomorrow... Any tips on hooking up the tube to make a "pisser" as you guys have called it? At first I thought I wanted to plug it up, but I think that sounds more fun!

I will probably go to Pep Boys first thing in the morning to see if I can just pick up a sprayer end.
