Robbed? Possibly?

Last week I joined here to check it out. After a little BS i found what I was looking for: how to remove the OE shift ****. Ya see, I work at an auto parts store. We recently recieved a Hurst billet Al pistol grip handle. But, it threads on. No push-on ability! But I just held it in place for a few minutes and day dreamed anyway. I could get thraeds cut on the rod but the time delay and having my car off the road just won't happen.

put it in 2nd gear, and pull. but be careful, it requires alot of force, so dont hit your self in the head when you finally free it

Just toss in a short shift kit, that will get you a threaded shifter.

On the mini, installing a short shift kit is hardly "tossing" it in! You have to lift the car, remove the exhaust, and install from underneath.

Many aftermarket ***** can also be secured with side screws. Those will work fine.

The best way to remove the **** is to stand with one foot in each footwell and pull into your stomach.

Yes I know what is involved and you are correct. Although I went to my mechanics shop to use the lift and had it in from start to finish in one hour. I consider tossing that in. Although without a lift it would take much longer.

I thought Hurst shift *****/grips came with an adapter for slide one/set screw applications? If they don't have one I'm sure they exist (I could swear I've seen them somewhere!).
