I have a PPG replacement and I'm not happy either. I'm accumulating small rock chips in the PPG as fast as I did with the OEM glass. And there is much more visual distortion to the PPG glass. Part of the problem is the molding of the glass, resulting in a bulge or curvature just below the upper seal. This is different than the OEM and there is less tint to the glass also. So if the PPG glass gets a star or crack, I'm opting for the OEM.

Hi guys, thanks for posting this.
As someone who is VERY unhappy with the stock windshield, I am looking for alternatives. Could those of you who have aftermarket windshield provide a few more details, please?
Do you have rain sense wipers?
How much are the PPG windshields?
SOme of you say you are getting as many small rock chips than with stock, does that include the many, many pin-hole ****** you get on the stock shield (sort of like sandblasting effect)?
TIA!
Markus

The PPG 's weight is not heavier than the stock. It is not thicker and it is not stronger. I live in Colorado where the DOT uses gravel ans sand on the roads during the winter. The frequency of flying debris is great. I replaced the ruined OEM windshield with a replacement PPG. I was led to believe that the PPG would be "tougher". That just isn't the case. I rock chipped the "new" windshield on the way home from Elite Glass. I would rate the PPG as equal to the OEM. It was cheaper. OEM $217 + $70 install vs. PPG at Elite Glass $216 installed with 1 year free chip repair. Elite will also replace the glass FOC if it "stress" cracks. It is written clearly in the contract. I think all the windshield are going to be about the same, with price and warranty or repairs as the only advantage in one vs. another. If you find otherwise PM me. I'm sure I will be replacing the annually. (Oh the joys of country living).
