If I am seeing this correctly, the Angel Eye part works with the parking lights? The lamp itself works independently, or with the high beams? How hard was the install? I would love to do that.

I wired mine so that the angel eyes and the driving lamps are independent of any other lights - the default wiring setup is direct-wired to the battery via a 3-position (On/Off/On) switch. I like this setup because I decide how and when to run them totally independent of other lights. I can run the driving main beams independent of the high beams and do so all the time - since I drive on twisty roads, I have the driving lamps angled for "wide angle" coverage, and often just run them to supplement my low-beams, actually. The DRAWBACK to this wiring scheme is that if I leave them on, even with the key out of the ignirtion, they stay lit without so much as a warning bleep.
That said, you surely could wire the angel eyes to come on with the parking lamps - in fact, I'm seriously considering doing that to mine. The main lamps are driven by a relay, but the angel eyes are simple LEDs and so can be lit independently simply by tapping them into one of the parking light's positive/ground wires according to Hella.
The main beams can also be set to turn on with the high beams by using the relay with the following diagram, where the high-beam power would go into the "Remote Turn On" lead shown here:
Fuses MUST BE USED, but they do come with the lamps, so you have all you need right in with the lighting kit.
I've left the LEDs on all night once or twice after coming home at night. The LEDs draw so little power that it doesn't harm the battery even overnight, but I live in fear of doing something bone-headed like going to the airport and leaving them on for a week.
ALso, some people have asked me how I mountedthe Hellas to the bonnet brackets, since the lamps come with a bracket obviously intended to be mounted UNDER a lip or bar with 2 screws - the bonnet brackets only have one. In my case, I had this bracket fabricated - feel free to copy this design as needed - it works flawlessly:
Gosh - thanks for saying so!

The Outmotoring brackets give you more flexibility of where you want to place the lamps. I wanted the offset look, w/o spending the crazy $$, and it is more unique too!! I was also informed by a gent that works for MINI that offsetting the lamps to both sides allows more airflow through the bottom grill, for what that is worth too.
As far as the mods to the grill are concerned, holes do have to be drilled into the bottom black grill for the brackets, but if you ever decide to remove them, I was told the bottom grill only costs about $20. Am I correct on that Shawn??
I highly recommend chatting with Aaron at Outmotoring. He was very knowledgable about the many different configurations that can be dreamed up with his brackets, or you could just go with Alta, which give you 1 option...but just don't lose any pieces of the Alta....

And I second the "call Aaron at Outmotoring" thing, or email him - he knows his stuff and always helps his customers.
