thinking of painting mods

Well I used some engine enamel paint & painted the "S" under the hood on the supercharger.

I am thinking of painting the calipers red and possibly the lug nuts red.

I have the dark silver metallic, black roof, with 17" S lites. I am pondering a Betty Boop type pinup to put near the rear of the car with her red dress.

I am thinking a little RED here and there, to give it a different look.

i cant see red lug nuts, that sounds silly cause the red will get scratched off any time you take your wheels off

When painting-

Consider heat. Brakes can be really really hot if you track your MINI. Street use isn't that bad on calipers- painting is OK.

Lug nuts or anything getting worked on by tools will get scratched in no time. Anodized nuts or painted nuts scratch easily. Plated (chrome) nuts do better.

Will the paint adhere to the surface? Sand it and prime it well. Some surfaces don't paint well.

Warranty important? I have painted many many parts from stock to upgrades. If an upgrade part fails and it is painted you might be charged a fee because it cannot be returned as a warranty covered item, sometimes it can be refurbished and returned to stock but not if it is painted.

For the "S" on the intercooler cover-
Find the "S" keychain and remove the top metal loop. Glue or tape the "S" over the S on the cover. That should fit.

wouldn't powered coating even wear off. The torque from a lug wrench or impact wrench can be harsh.

Yes it will fit, i thought about doing it, but i was concerned with the glue (or epoxy) softening due to the heat and the emblem falling off into my engine bay somewhere, so i think im just going to paint it. Im having the IC cover painted professionally at a shop.
