which antenna......?

Which short and stubby antenna do you guys recommend that still keeps the best signal? And how much signal do you lose when switching from the stock antenna?

Thanks

I use an S2000 antenna and don't lose any reception as far as I can tell from stock.

Its also alot taller than the Alta.

I have the Alta and i didnt notice a difference in reception works great and fits the car better than the S2000 cause its just the right size, not too big and not too small.

I have two of the shorter antennas, one is the S2000 and the other is from Craven Speed. I like the looks of the Craven Speed better, but the S2000 gives better performance (similar to stock). Based on the above comments, sound like I need to try the Alta, too (since I'm running with Craven Speed normally because I like the shorter length).

I have an S2000, but if I were to do it all over today, I'd probably go with Alta. Not a big deal for me though, so I'll keep what I've got. However...there's always the next MINI!!!

Then I probably shouldn't mention the brake-light mod either. Hey, the bulbs were there, I just make practical use of them!!

S2000 for me. I like the idea of walking into a local dealership and buying an antenna instead of waiting for it in the mail. Plus, I think the Altas are too short.

I heard somewhere a while back that the MINI uses the wiring for the rear window defogger along with the actual antenna to pick up radio. It supposedly uses the difference between the two to pick the better signal. Because of this, there is little quality lost when switching to a small antenna. I'm not sure if this info is true or not, though.

I didn't really care if i lost alittle bit i listen to Sirius about 98% of the time. I just hate the way the OEM one looks. But when i do listen to the Norm radio i havn't notice a difference.

Somebody just stole my regular antenna recently, I just put a little rubber plug in the hole to keep debris out of it until I replaced it. It occured to me that I never listen to the radio anyway since I got Sirius and my ipod. I think I'm just going to leave it that way. That punk who stole it may of actually done me a favor.
